Gemma is the head of the wills, probate and trusts department at Wolferstans, having joined the firm in 2016. She is known for her reputation in delivering exceptional client service with empathy and kindness.

Gemma regularly prepares powers of attorney and business lasting powers of attorney for her clients, and is often approached by other local law firms to act as a certificate provider when they are unable to do so themselves.

She also has extensive expertise in all types of trust work, including preparing declarations of trust, advising settlers, beneficiaries and trustees, and drafting wills containing trusts. Clients and advisers frequently seek Gemma’s advice in relation to family protection trusts, which often involves retiring and appointing trustees, appointing assets out of a trust or winding up the trust, together with advice on the associated tax implications.

Gemma has significant experience administering high-net-worth and taxable estates, including those requiring complex tax relief applications. She regularly advises on domicile and acts in cases involving foreign elements and assets. In addition, she is often appointed to act as a professional executor, trustee or attorney.

Outside of work, Gemma enjoys spending time at the beach, either bodyboarding or walking with her family and dogs.
