Department: Personal Injury

Location: Plymouth

Linda is a Partner and Solicitor in the personal injury claims department. She has over 30 years’ experience in pursuing accidents at work claims, road traffic accident claims, accidents in military service claims, tripping and slipping incident claims, stress at work claims, holiday accidents and accidents in public places claims.

Her caseload often involves serious injuries, including brain and psychological injuries, amputations, spinal injuries, fractures and serious internal injuries.

Linda has a particular interest in pursuing claims on behalf of veterans and serving personnel for injuries suffered during service, or where accidents in civilian life affect their ability to continue their military careers.

She has extensive experience of claims against the Ministry of Defence, including injuries sustained during training and at sea. Her detailed knowledge of service pay and allowances, service benefits, the impact of medical downgrade on promotion and the procedures for medical discharge is particularly valuable in achieving favourable results for her clients.

Linda also regularly advises on the advantages of pursuing a personal injury claim alongside a claim under the Armed Forces Compensation Scheme.

Linda is a member of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL) and attends regular specialist training in military claims, including the APIL Military Claims Conference and Forces Law training. She has developed a strong network of expert contacts who provide tailored support to serving personnel, veterans, and their families.

Linda has secured substantial compensation for her clients, including:

  • £700,000 for a serviceman injured in a man overboard training exercise
  • £250,000 for a motorcyclist injured on the A38 who suffered head and psychological injuries
  • £130,000 for a worker crushed between two vehicles on a construction site, suffering internal injuries
  • £50,000 across two claims for a serviceman injured in a road traffic accident and a training exercise overseas

Outside of work, Linda enjoys reading, walking in the countryside around her South Hams home, good food and wine, and looking after her three cats.
