Ryan is a Chartered Legal Executive Litigator and Senior Associate in the personal injury claims department. He has substantial experience in litigation, team leadership, and legal operations, with a proven track record across a wide range of personal injury claims matters including industrial disease claims, employers’ and public liability claims, road traffic accidents claims, complex military claims, and high-value multi-track litigation.
Ryan began his legal career in 2004 as an Administrative Assistant at a Top 100 law firm in Bristol. He progressed rapidly, managing the firm’s deeds and wills compliance function before taking on his first case-handling role in 2008, dealing with low-value road traffic accident claims. He later developed his specialism in industrial disease claims, qualifying as a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives in 2016.
Ryan is known for his client-focused approach, ensuring clear, informative, and empathetic advice throughout the litigation process. He has successfully secured six-figure settlements for military personnel suffering from non-freezing cold injuries, cases which required a high degree of legal precision and understanding of the unique challenges faced by members of the armed forces. His passion for supporting service personnel stems from his time as a Royal Marine Cadet and a family history of service in the Royal Navy and British Army.
Alongside his legal casework, Ryan has held operational leadership roles in national firms. He has overseen new business functions, supported cross-departmental strategic initiatives, and delivered improvements in compliance, process efficiency, and training. His ability to blend legal expertise with commercial insight strengthens his holistic approach to practice.
Ryan also has a strong interest in legal innovation and user experience. He holds a qualification in User Experience Design, which complements his commitment to modernising legal services through technology and user-centred service design.
Outside of work, Ryan enjoys being active and outdoors. A keen mountain biker, Ryan enjoys riding down steep hills and getting muddy (his words!). He also runs a local football group for players that are perhaps more ‘mature’, but still enjoy playing the game in an inclusive and non-competitive environment. Ryan also enjoys cooking and exploring the coast and countryside with his family.
