The Role:
The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the Lawyers in the Claimant Medical Negligence Department by assisting with the preparation and management of claims, ensuring cases progress efficiently and effectively.
The role involves legal research, document drafting, liaising with clients and experts, and handling administrative tasks to support exceptional high-quality client service and successful case outcomes.
What will you do?
- Assist the lawyer with conduct of the file in the day to day running of their cases from inception to settlement or trial.
- Conduct legal research on case law, legislation, and medical issues relevant to claims.
- Draft legal documents, including letters of claim, witness statements, and instructions to experts and counsel.
- Assist in reviewing and analysing medical records, reports and expert opinions.
- Prepare case bundles for court proceedings, hearings and settlement meetings.
- Liaise with medical experts, counsel, and other third parties to obtain necessary evidence and reports.
- Act as point of contact for clients, providing updates and ensuring exceptional legal service is provided.
- Handle client queries and maintain regular communication to ensure they are regularly informed of case progress.
- Managing your own workload and prioritising tasks.
- Maintain compliant and accurate electronic files.
You will be based at our offices on North Hill with potential to work from home part of the week subject to training and business need.
