Firearms officers trained by MET exposed to asbestos

Its has been confirmed by Scotland Yard that every armed police officer who has severed in London over the last 30 years has come into contact with asbestos.

Some of the buildings that have been used for firearms training between 1980 and 2007 may have contained asbestos, a deadly mineral which can cause conditions such as mesothelioma, asbestosis, pleural thickening or fibrosis up to 50 years after the initial exposure.
