Military Deafness Claims

Hearing loss can end your military career and leave you with ongoing difficulties in your daily life. A military deafness claim can allow you to get fair compensation for the impact on you and your loved ones, helping to get your life back on track.

Hearing loss compensation can pay for specialist treatment and equipment, making sure your hearing is as good as possible. It can also replace lost income and start to make amends for your pain and suffering.

To make a claim, you first need to find out if you have grounds for compensation and how much this might be. You will then have the information you need to decide whether making a claim is right for you.

To arrange a free initial no obligation consultation with our military deafness solicitors, please contact our Industrial Deafness team on 01752 663295.

Are you owed military deafness compensation?

For a successful claim, you will need to prove that your hearing loss was caused by your military service and that this happened as a result of a duty of care being breached. Typically, this will involve mistakes such as failure to provide proper protective equipment during situations where potentially damaging noise was likely.

Our military deafness solicitors can quickly assess your case and provide an expert opinion on whether you are likely owed compensation. We will then talk you through exactly what you need to do to make a claim.

We offer no win, no fee funding and the vast majority of claims we take on are settled out of court. This allows our clients to avoid the time, cost, stress and uncertainty associated with court proceedings.

Key facts about military hearing loss claims

How to claim military deafness compensation

There are 3 potential options for claiming compensation for armed forces hearing loss:

  1. Claiming under the Armed Forces Compensation Scheme (AFCS)For hearing loss that occurred or was made worse by something that occurred during military service after 6 April 2005.
  2. Claiming under the War Pension Scheme

For military service-related hearing loss that occurred or was made worse by something that happened before 6 April 2005.
  3. Making a civil claim against the MoDTo secure the full compensation available, you may also need to make a civil claim against the MoD.

It is important that you do not wait for the outcome of an AFCS or War Pension claim before seeking legal advice, as the length of time for assessment under either of these schemes may exceed the time limit for a civil claim.

Our military deafness solicitors can advise you on each of these routes for claiming compensation for hearing loss in your free initial no obligation consultation.
