Helena is a Graduate Legal Executive in the Medical Negligence Department.
Helena has substantial experience in dealing with a variety of both personal injury and clinical negligence claims since 2003 but for the past 4 years has acted exclusively for Claimants who have been victims of medical accident and wish to investigate the poor outcome of their treatment. Helena has vast experience of running cases involving catastrophic injuries, fatal claims, stillbirth and neonatal loss claims in addition to a range of medical negligence cases to trial.
Helena strives to do the very best for her clients, often dealing with difficult and challenging situations whilst maintaining an empathetic approach to her clients. She is known for her ability support families who have suffered significant loss, running her cases efficiently and pro-actively. Helena’s knowledge and understanding of clinical negligence claims and the experience which she has gained is far greater than one would normally expect of someone in her position.
Helena acts for client’s who have been affected by treatment provided by all health professionals, and has a specialist interest and additional training representing members of the Armed Forces. In addition, Helena works hard at creating links with local and national charities in order to support their individual aims. She has a particular skill at supporting charities relating to baby loss and neonatal death and is heavily involved in the stillbirth community. As Helena acts for a number of clients affected by baby loss, she strives to provide a full rounded support to her clients following such a significant trauma, in addition to the legal advice she provides.
Helena works within the charities team and social media committee within the medical negligence team, and dedicates significant time to ensure her clients are fully supported.
Helena is an Accredited Litigator of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL).
Helena is also an Accredited Mediator qualifying in 2009.
Helena was Charities Director for the Plymouth Junior Lawyers Division in 2016 and was voted in by the board for a further year in 2017 making significant progress for the society.
Helena was named the Plymouth Law Society’s Young Lawyer of the Year 2015 and won the award of Lawyers Monthly Woman in Law 2016, 2017 and 2018 recognising her exceptional contribution to law, the legal community and non-profit organisations.
In addition to her active caseload Helena Campbell also plays a vital role in developing links with local charities and has recently become a Director and Trustee of Veterans With Dogs. Helena has also become an Ambassador for the Meningitis Research Foundation, providing support as a befriender, helping families through all stages following the diagnosis of Meningitis.
Helena a Graduate Legal Executive having performed her studies whilst working full time, and is now working towards her Fellowship through the Institute of Legal Executives.
Helena enjoys adventures on the coast with her husband and young daughter, upcycling furniture in her spare time, and arranging charity events.
