Clare is a Consultant Solicitor at Wolferstans and specialises in commercial property work, including the sale and purchase of development land, acting for landlords and tenants and secured lending.

She has well over 25 years’ experience first working in this practice area in 1989 when she joined Rundle McDonald & Rendle which firm merged with Wolferstans in 1992. Clare has a degree in law and politics from Cardiff University graduating in 1982. After qualifying as a Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives, Clare was later admitted as a Solicitor in 1991 with honours in the Law Society final examinations.

Clare has acted on local re-generation projects, on collaboration agreements for clients with Plymouth City Council, for banks, residential developers, an airport, a harbour authority, care home providers, investors, housing associations and tenants.

Clare’s wealth of experience includes acting on the site assembly of land for a building for the Department of Work and Pensions and the sale of the completed and let building to an investment company for £14m. Other highlights are acting for care home providers with portfolios of homes, including acting on options for the development of new care homes and their sale and acquisition and has assisted a client in developing a unique model for affordable housing. In addition, she acted on the merger of Plymouth College and St Dunstan’s independent schools forming a new charity to run the merged enterprise. Clare has advised on Section 64 grant properties including the purchase of properties from the Secretary of State and on land acquisitions for LIFT projects.

Clare assists the Prince’s Trust providing co-ordinating advice to young entrepreneurs, is a trustee/Governor of Plymouth College and a sits as a magistrate.

Outside of work Clare enjoys spending time with her family, reading voraciously, horse riding, walking in the beautiful South Hams with her lively cocker spaniel, skiing on the easy slopes and is a regular theatre goer.
