Want to know how our last Vacation Scheme went? Over the course of the week, university students were able to gain an insight into the key functions of the firm whilst also experiencing the role of a trainee solicitor within each department. They benefitted from the opportunity to network with some of the firms’ partners, associates, and trainees, who each provided invaluable insight into their experiences within the firm and their journey into the law. To assist students through the next stage of their studies, and share what the various routes into law are, we also held a presentation from BARBRI SQE Prep regarding the SQE and the accompanying QWE process.

"The week was brilliant; allowing me to experience law in practice, learn about the reality of working in a firm and engage with a multitude of different areas of the law. I also had the amazing chance to meet with a variety of people, ranging from thought-provoking discussions with partners of the firm, inspiring talks with trainee solicitors, and even the opportunity to meet with some clients.

Additionally, this Vacation Scheme offered a wealth of information regarding routes to qualifying as a solicitor, helping me further define and plan my next steps after university. A huge thank you to everyone at Wolferstans for being so welcoming and providing such an exciting and interesting experience! I hope to continue being involved with the firm."

Want to know how our last Work Experience week went? School students were provided with a key insight into how lawyers work in practice. Throughout the week, students gained first-hand experience into what life it like as a lawyer in a range of sectors, including Wills & Probate, Family, Property, Business, Medical Negligence and Personal Injury, which proved a great opportunity to aspiring lawyers.

“Whilst at Wolferstans, I felt everyone was approachable and friendly. I was never afraid to ask questions and felt encouraged constantly to do so. This made my first ever work experience very enjoyable, and I instantly felt at ease no matter which department I was in. I felt the work experience in itself was beneficial to me, as I got exposure to many types of law and highlighted to me the endless options to get into law as well as what I could do with law.

Wolferstans did not just show me the different types of law, but it also ensured we understood are options into the routes for law, which was invaluable to me. Overall, I felt my whole experience at Wolferstans was excellent and I would not hesitate to come back again in the future for more work experience.”
