- Insolvency and restructuring issues (including defending Directors from claims by the liquidator/Secretary of State);

- Professional negligence/breach of duty claims
Gareth’s recent cases include:
- Acting against a commercial lender in the case of Wood v Commercial First Business Ltd & ors and Business Mortgage Finance 4 plc v Pengelly which is now a leading case about frauds and secret commissions;
- Acting in the Supreme Court in a case described as “being of genuine public interest” in establishing the limits of what actions Local Authorities can take.
- A number of High Court cases in the Technology and Construction list and the Business and Property list together with general High Court litigation.
- A Wide variety of Multi-Track cases at the County Court.
Most of Gareth’s cases are resolved via active use of negotiation and Alternative Dispute Resolution to provide cost and outcome certainty to clients. Gareth will work with you to try and avoid the need for court altogether taking into account all the issues.
