James Snell

Associate, Litigation Assistant

James is an Associate and Litigation Assistant acting exclusively for claimants in relation to medical negligence claims under the supervision of a Partner and Head of department.

He has a degree in law from the University of Plymouth and joined the profession in 2008, working exclusively in litigation since that time.

Prior to joining Wolferstans, James worked in personal injury for a national law firm where he was responsible for the supervision and development of a team of junior fee earners, whilst continuing to maintain his own caseload of personal injury claims. He has experience in acting for both Claimants and Defendants and is well versed in the tactics defendants are likely to employ when dealing with litigation.

James joined Wolferstans in 2015, initially assisting an Associate Solicitor with a range of complex claims before progressing to managing his own caseload.

James takes pride in developing good relationships with his clients; he is approachable and is always happy to take time to discuss any concerns that his clients have. The claims process can appear daunting and James strives to make this as understandable and stress free as possible.

James has a particular interest in conditions affecting the ears, nose and throat as well as orthopaedic injuries and injuries sustained through sport or trauma. However, he is experienced in a wide range of claims and has worked on claims, including but not limited to:

James is a keen sportsman, having represented Wolferstans in both Cricket and Rugby. He regularly participates in fund-raising activities. James is very much a dog person and has an interest in mental health. This has led to him providing some assistance to the charity ‘Veterans With Dogs’, who provide assistance dogs to Veterans with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and other mental health conditions.
