Samantha Buckthought

Partner, Senior Private Client Solicitor

Samantha is the Senior Partner with responsibility for private client. She has been qualified for over 20 years and has worked with hundreds of individuals and families, specialising particularly in complex, high value and taxable estate administration, complex wills and trust work.

Samantha obtained a First in Law at the University of Exeter, winning awards during her degree, before qualifying at Wolferstans in 2001 after completing her training contract, which focused on private client work. She became a partner in 2004 and Head of the Wills and Trust department in 2007, a post which she held until 2018 when she became a Senior Partner. She is a member of the Law Society Private Client Section and the Institute of Legacy Management and is a Panel Deputy for the Court of Protection, one of only a handful in the country recognised for her skill and expertise in dealing with elderly and vulnerable clients.

Samantha enjoys singing and amateur theatre in her spare time, although since her 4 sons arrived, much of her time is spent baking cakes and being inventive with lego, old boxes, paint and glue!
