Support for Carers – Carers Rights Day 2018

Support for Carers – Carers Rights Day 2018

At Wolferstans, we recognise the difficulties Carers face on a daily basis and therefore do what we can to provide support for them.

We have specialist teams dedicated to providing support for carers – preparing Wills and Lasting Powers of Attorney (‘LPAs’) and dealing with capacity issues, the Court of Protection and Deputyship applications. We also support many local charities and organisations which assist Carers and those they care for, with free legal advice clinics, sponsorship and events as often as we can.

Each year, the national charity known as ‘Carers UK’ mark a special day to bring organisations across the UK together to help carers in their local community know their rights and find out how to get the help and support they are entitled to, known as ‘Carers Rights Day’.

This year on 30th November, ‘Caring for Carers’, are holding a free event for Carers in the city to get legal, advocacy, mental health and benefits advice at the Plymouth Guildhall from 11am until 3pm. There will be goodie bags and raffle prizes and members of our Wills & Trust team will be on hand to talk to you about the legal issues effecting you. We will also be offering those who attend a voucher for 10% off our fixed-fee Wills and Lasting Powers of Attorney.

We are also marking Carers Rights Day by offering half price LPAs for Carers and those they care for during the week leading up to the event (26th – 30th November). LPAs can be vital in ensuring that the Carer, relative, friend or professional you trust has the legal authority to act and make decisions on your behalf if you need them to. There are limited spaces available for this offer so please call us as soon as possible to book your appointment for this week. We like to see our clients face to face and so an appointment can be made to meet with us at any of our three offices. Alternatively, if you would rather we came to you then a home visit can be arranged, usually without any additional charge.
