Wolferstans’ Wills and Trust Team – Growing from Strength to Strength

October has been a busy month for Wolferstans’ Wills and Trust department with Rebecca Bawler, a Chartered Legal Executive, winning the Plymouth Law Society’s 'Young Lawyer of the Year' Award.

Rebecca’s hard work and contribution to local charities was recognised when she was awarded this accolade at the recent Plymouth Law Society dinner. Rebecca qualified as a Fellow of CILEx this year after having undertaken all her post-graduate training with Wolferstans.

Danielle Penrose qualified as a solicitor in October after completing her training with the firm. Danielle was born in Plymouth and attended Plymouth High School for Girls grammar school, as did Rebecca. Danielle assists her clients with the preparation of Wills, Powers of Attorney, as well as administration of estates. Danielle is often praised for her excellent delivery of client care.

All of the Wills and Trust department at Wolferstans, as well as many others in the firm, are ‘Dementia Friends’ meaning they have received training from the Alzheimer’s Society on dementia and how it can affect someone who has been diagnosed with the condition. The training has given us a better understanding of how we can help those affected by dementia, therefore improving their experience when either they come into the office, or we go and see them at their home. We are also very proud to be one of the first firms to have received Compassionate Friends training from St Luke’s Hospice. St Luke’s are leading the way in helping Plymouth become a Compassionate City. The aim being that we are able to help support one another and those in the community, particularly during periods of crisis or loss.

There are many members of our team who have the Society for Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP), qualification. The STEP qualification sets the bar for private client lawyers who practice in this area. There are some members of the team who are Solicitors for the Elderly (SFE) members – a specialist group of solicitors and lawyers whose aim is to make a difference to older and vulnerable people’s lives and ensure they receive the best legal service offered.
