10:30am - 11:15am “How Not To Lose Tribunal Claims”

Debbie Grennan, is an experienced Employment and Discrimination Barrister from Guildhall Chambers with over 25 years of practice. During her session she unravels the intricacies of navigating Employment and SEND tribunals for both school staff and parents.

Debbie will also unveil her Top 10 Tips for school leadership teams. These insights are designed to help schools avoid claims and effectively handle any claims that may arise. Drawing from real-life cases, she'll cover diverse topics such as religious/philosophical belief, sexual harassment, disability discrimination, and whistleblowing.

11:15am - 12pm "Quirks of the Education Sector – You Cannot Be Serious"

James Twine, experienced Education and Employment Lawyer and Head of our Business Services team.

James will discuss a number of quirks within the education HR setting that have to be heard to be believed – the issues James will discuss are cropping up more and more as Unions, staff and social media are spreading the word. Attending the session will ensure you are live to these issues and can plan accordingly and ensure you are not caught out and facing an uphill battle.
