Coronavirus top tips: How to keep your children entertained!

The impact of Coronavirus has affected everyone in some way; schools have been shut and the majority of the public are now working from home save for key workers and other exceptions.

As a parent, it is difficult to work from home and keep the children entertained. The Family team at Wolferstans have put together a few suggestions to help you occupy your children:

1) Home Learning – your child’s school may have online teaching in place to allow your children to continue learning. There are also plenty of resources available online. Twinkl is an online platform providing resources from all stages from Early Years Foundation Stage to Key Stage 4. It is important to keep in touch with your child’s school to see how they can help and share ideas with other parents. Carol Vorderman has also announced that she is offering online maths learning packages.

2) Reading and audio books – David Walliams has announced that he will be releasing a free daily audio story.

3) Exercise – the Prime Minister has told us that we are currently allowed to go out once a day to do one form of exercise. Joe Wicks is hosting live free workouts at 9am each day for children to help them get some exercise and also benefit their mental health.

4) Eat Healthy – a balanced diet, along with exercise, is good for us all, both physically and mentally. Encourage children to get involved with cooking. This can be educational too.

These are just a few tips from the family team at Wolferstans, but there are plenty more online!

If you are a parent who shares care of your children, try to communicate with the other parent so that you can work together and plan a routine for your children. It would be great to keep these things up as they move between houses.
