Wolferstans Joins Group B Strep Support’s Legal Panel

National charity Group B Strep Support and leading law firm Wolferstans are delighted to announce their new corporate partnership to raise greater awareness of group B Strep, and provide support to families affected by it.

Group B Strep is the most common cause of life-threatening infection in newborn babies, causing meningitis, sepsis or pneumonia in over 700 babies every year in the UK.

On average in the UK: • two babies every day develop group B Strep infection • one baby a week dies from group B Strep infection, and • one baby a week survives their group B Strep infection with a fortnight is left with long-term disability

“We are delighted to be working with Group B Strep Support and supporting their vital campaign in ensuring that families , expectant mothers and health professionals have important information about Group B Strep.

Sadly, through our work we are all too familiar with the devastating consequences that undiagnosed and untreated Group B Strep can have on babies and their families. We hope that by working with Group B Strep Support we will be able to not only help those who have been affected by GBS but also promote knowledge and awareness to reduce the number of families affected.”
